On May 29, 1922, a massacre by Portuguese and Australian troops in Macao took place in Macao, killing a number of Chinese workers in Macao. What inspired it was a vigorous labor movement that had a profound impact. Since the 20th century, there has been no progress in the demarcation negotiations between Portugal and China on the one hand, and the Portuguese authorities on the other continue to expand their aggression near Macao, arousing strong indignation and protest from the Chinese people. The reaction of the Portuguese authorities to this has been to intensify their abuses against the Chinese residents living in Macao and to result in “May 29th” major blood hand in hand.
