玉米杂交种只能种一代,要年年制种。我县过去制种任务是按玉米播种面积往社队分摊,自繁自用。由于制种技术不过关,杂种的数量和质量无法保证。1977年全县下达制种任务3,800亩,育种单位192家,参加人数1,000余人次,繁育组合和自交系42个,用隔离区232个。收获时由于种种原因报废1,060亩,实收2,740亩,生产种子29.55万斤,平均亩产77.6斤,真正达到一、二级标准的种子只能满足全县16万亩玉米用种的
Maize hybrids can only grow a generation, to be planted year after year. In the past, the task of seed production in our county was to apportion the fleet of corn according to the sown area of corn and use it freely. As the seed production technology, however, the number and quality of hybrids can not be guaranteed. In 1977, the county issued 3,800 mu of seed production tasks, 192 breeding units, more than 1,000 participants, 42 breeding groups and inbreds, and 232 isolated areas. At the time of harvesting, 1,060 mu of land was scrapped, 2,740 mu of land was actually harvested, 295,500 kg of seed was produced, and 77.6 kg of land per mu was produced on average. Seeds that truly met Grade I and Grade II standards only met the requirement of planting 16,000 mu of corn in the county
