Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) often occurs in hypokalemia. Adrenergic activation stimulates cell membrane binding of Na + K + ATPase and promotes the entry of potassium into the cell. Therefore, hypokalemia may be an early response to ACS adrenergic activation. Diabetes mellitus often causes sympathetic dysfunction, so it is hypothesized that the incidence of hypokalemia in patients with diabetes mellitus will decline, this prospective cohort study conducted in this area
