At 1:47 a.m. on September 21, 1999, a strong 7.3 magnitude Richter earthquake hit central Taiwan. As a result, landslides and landslides broke out immediately, houses were torn down and the ground was severely punished. As a result, heavy casualties were caused and a large number of engineering facilities were also affected Serious damage. On June 18, 2001, at the invitation of Taiwan’s China Institute for Disaster Prevention, a mountain disaster study group composed of well-known scholars from universities and research institutes in mainland China went to Taiwan via Hong Kong and participated in the “Symposium on the Earth and Stone Flow and Flood Disaster across the Taiwan Strait ”. I have the honor of being a member of the delegation and started our trip to Taiwan. Although most of the houses and roads damaged by the earthquake have been rebuilt nearly two years after the Sept. 21 earthquake, many unique landscapes after the earthquake can still be seen. Some of the typical seismic footprints have been specially protected and become popular science education Places and unique attractions to attract tourists.
