激光是60年代出现的新技术。目前激光在农业上应用的途径及方法主要包括:促进农作物生长发育,提早当代熟期和提高当代产量及品质;作为新的诱变源,进行激光育种研究;防治病虫害、除草及整地;在农业基础科学研究中的应用。近年来,我国激光遗传育种和激光生物学的研究工作发展迅速,成果显著;研究方法及研究水平有了很大的提高。据不完全统计,目前已育成的粮、棉、油、蔬菜、水果、蚕桑等新品种及新品系如多个,其中有些已通过省、市级鉴定,取得了明显的经济效益和社会效益。激光农业应用的成果是令人兴奋的,前号是光明的。
