李泓茂同志所提意見是正確的。但我们愿意作以下的補充。天然放射性元素除鈾、钍、锕三系最後都变为穩定的鉛的同位素外,沿有若干較輕的元素,共蛻變結果的穩定產物並非鉛的同位素。伹李同志所列舉这些元素的半衰期是不够正確的。据較近的結果应该是下列數字。鉀 _(19)K~(40) β-蛻变半衰期 127×10~9年铷 _(37_Rb~(87) β-蛻变半衰期 6.38×10~(10)年釤 _(62)Sm~(147) α蛻变半衰期 1.4×10~(11)年第274頁上的第249圖是从照片上描下來的,很不清楚,尤其分叉中的短的一支很不易分清。书中其餘的威爾遜雲室照相圖都是从照片上描下來的,質量都很低。我們希望人民教育出版社以後設法改善。
