新中国成立之初,我在甘肃任团省委书记时结识了胡耀邦同志,并在其后几十年的风风雨雨里,与耀邦同志有过多次交往。在不同的时期和不同的境遇下,我亲身感受到耀邦同志活跃、真实、谦逊、大度和光明磊落等多方面的人格魅力。在我的眼里,耀邦同志既是位充满活力和正义感的伟大政治家,又是一位亲切、和蔼、富有人情味的兄长。如今,耀邦同志已离我们而去十八年了,但他永远生动地活在我的心里。
At the beginning of the founding of New China, I met Comrade Hu Yaobang when I was secretary of the provincial party committee of Gansu Province. In the ups and downs of the following decades, I had many contacts with Comrade Hu Yaobang. At different times and in different situations, I personally feel the glamor of many aspects of the active, true, humble, generous and honorable manner of Comrade Yaobang. In my eyes, Comrade Hu Yaobang is not only a great politician full of vitality and justice, but also a friendly, kind and humane brother. Today, Comrade Hu Yaobang has been away from us for eighteen years, but he lives vividly in my heart forever.
