Pseudococcus longispinus (Pseudococcus longispinus), belonging to the Homoptera Meridae family, widely distributed in the tropical and subtropical regions, is a multi-feeding pests, damage to a variety of crops. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, the pears orchards near the cotton fields in Israel (especially in Western Galilee) were severely damaged by the long-tailed mealybugs. This is the result of the spraying of pesticides on the cotton fields and the pesticides floating to the pears orchards, thus destroying the biological balance between the pests and their natural enemies. This article is the result of a study on the phenology of long-tail mealybugs and their natural enemies between 1970 and 74.
