She always sticks to the female position in her writing. She is deeply imprinted with the imprint of the times and is a female writer who can not be ignored in the history of modern and contemporary Chinese literature. “Ms. Shafei’s Diary” is her early literary works, although the length is not long, but when it comes out, they provoked Melaleuca waves, had a huge social repercussions. Ding Ling, the name, and therefore dazzling boarded the Chinese literary world. The novel was published in China in 1927, coinciding with the cultural impact of Western culture influx into mainland China. The writer was influenced by different aspects in his creation and combined with the social reality of that time. He wrote “Diary of Ms. Sha Fei” (Hereinafter referred to as “Sha”). In the novel, the external cultural thoughts mainly embody in three aspects: the independence spirit of western women, the creative method of realism and the concern about social issues. Through in-depth study of the text, we can get a better understanding of Ding Ling, approaching history and discovering the spirit of the times of literature, which is of great reference to today’s situation of Chinese literature.
