新旧初中课标(分别是2001年《全日制义务教育历史课程标准(实验稿)》、《全日制义务教育历史课程标准(2011年版)》)中的文化史“内容标准”是课程内容选择的结果,其呈现的差异不仅隐含着文化史的价值取向的变化,还隐含着课程价值取向与历史教育价值取向的变化。文化有广义和狭义之分,广义的文化包括人类创造的全部物质和精神文化的总和,通常分为物质文化、制度文化、精神文化;狭义的文化主要是指精神文化,其产生发展的历史即是精神文化史,主要包括科学技术史、学术思想史、文学艺术史、宗教史、社会史、教育史等等。
