韩非是先秦法家的集大成者,他主张要用法治理国家,但他并没有完全否定道德的作用,而是从治理国家的现实角度看待道德:道德是古代治理国家的原则,这是由社会现实决定的;道德可以成为以法治国的辅助,“誉辅其赏,毁随其罚”就是这种辅助作用的体现;君主和官吏自身的德性修养在治理国家的过程中具有重要价值,因而他主张君主和官吏要有为政之德。韩非的政治道德观,是从治理国家的现实来看待道德的。
