According to SENASA, the U.S. Department of Animal and Plant Health Administration (APHIS) plans to import avocado from Peru in the last quarter of 2008. It took 6 years for the Peruvian Ministry of Agriculture to promote Peruvian avocados into the U.S. market, which will play an important role in promoting Peruvian agriculture. The U.S. Sanitary and Phytosanitary Administration requests Peru to submit a report on the distribution of pear blooms and pear pests in the country.
