最近“怼”字出镜率非常高。面对面互打嘴仗是“怼”；“怼死你”，是干死你，比打还要更凶更猛一点；“怼一架”，就是干一架，打一架；“怼他”就是收拾他的意思；“车屁股被怼了一下”，意思是被撞了……“怼”在中文里几乎可以涵盖打、吃、玩、干、喝等，成了万能动词。那么“怼”字在英语里怎么说呢？
⒈attack：抨击
例：He publicly attacked the people who’ve been calling for secret ballot① nominations.
他公开抨击了那些一直要求秘密投票提名的人。
Meryl attacks Trump in Golden Globes acceptance②speech.
梅丽尔在金球奖获奖感言上怼了特朗普。
⒉lash out③：痛斥；猛烈抨击
例：As a politician Jefferson frequently lashed out at the press.
作为一名政治家，杰斐逊曾屡次痛斥新闻媒体。
⒊take on：较量，同（对手）较量；接受……的挑战；对付
例：I’ll take you on at billiards.
我要和你打台球。
He wants to take on that boxing champion.
他想和那个拳击冠军较量。
⒋call out：向……挑战（叫板），要求进行决斗
例：In past years a gentleman should call out any man who was rude to his wife.
在过去，一个体面的人应该向任何一个对他妻子无礼的人提出决斗。
⒌thrown down the gauntlet④：下战书
例：Genoa’s midfield general Alberto Zapater has thrown down the gauntlet to Juventus， telling the Italian Press he wants to beat them.
熱那亚的中场指挥官阿尔贝托·萨帕特尔开始向尤文图斯宣战，并告诉意大利媒体，他将尽全力击败对手。
⒍tear into：严厉谴责，猛烈攻击
例：Left-wingers unleashed⑤ the state media to tear into Tom.
左派利用国家媒体对汤姆发动猛攻。
以上这种“怼”的程度较深，程度轻一些的话，“怼”有争吵讽刺的意思。英文还可以说成：
argue with sb.：和某人争吵
taunt⑥ sb.：讽刺某人，嘲笑； 羞辱
