As the name suggests, The Tale of Two Cities tells the story of two cities - London and Paris. Historically, the two cities have too many similarities. The two male protagonists in the novel, Charles Danai and Sidney Caton, to some extent, like London and Paris, form a phase. The corresponding relationship. They were originally strangers who did not know each other, but they were linked because of the trial of one case. They looked very similar, and more subtle, they fell in love with the same girl - Miss Lucy, the heroine in the novel. The end of the story is that Carton did not hesitate to save Dana at his own expense. When we carefully interpret Dickens’ description of Caton in the novel, we can feel some other thought-provoking implications.
