通过系统观察测试部分长年参加武术锻炼和无训练者在完成规定的太极拳运动前、运动中、运动后的心肺功能指标变化后发现:长期从事太极拳运动的老年人心脏射血速度和射血加速度均显著性优于普通人(P<0.05),而且肺活量也显著大于普通人(P<0.05)。此外,一系列指标显示长年从事太极拳运动对促进老年人心肺功能的改善确实具有积极作用,同时大量的研究结果也为老年人如何参加该项运动锻炼提供了切实可行的实验依据。
