为了纪念国际电信联盟(ITU)的成立,1968年电联第二十三届行政理事会议决定,把国际电信联盟成立之日——5月17日定为“世界电信日”,并从1969年开始确定每年主题,国际电信联盟(ITU)和会员国都要组织各种纪念和庆祝活动。每年世界电信日的主题由国际电信联盟(ITU)行政理事会于上一年决定。下面列出的就是自1969年以来历年世界电信日的主题。
In commemoration of the establishment of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Twenty-third Session of the ITU Administrative Council in 1968 decided to set the day of the establishment of the International Telecommunication Union as May 17 as World Telecommunication Day and from 1969 Begin to identify the annual theme, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Member States to organize various commemorative and celebration activities. The theme of the annual World Telecommunication Day was decided by the Administrative Council of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) in the previous year.
