Objective: To investigate the expression of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and its relationship with tumor angiogenesis. Methods: The expressions of NF-κB P65 and VEGF in 56 cases of non-small cell lung cancer and 20 cases of paracancerous lung tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry. The density of tumor vessels (MVD) was measured by anti-CD34. Results: (1) The positive rates of NF-κB P65 and VEGF in non-small cell lung cancer were 83.9% (47/56) and 69.6% (39/56), respectively, which were significantly higher than those in paracancerous tissues (P <0.05) ; (2) The expression of NF-κB P65 in different TNM stage, lymph node and pleural effusion, smoking group differences was statistically significant, VEGF expression in lymph node and pleural metastasis was statistically significant; ( 3) NF-κB P65, VEGF, MVD there is a clear correlation between the three. Conclusion: The abnormal expressions of NF-κB and VEGF are closely related to the occurrence and development of NSCLC and the formation of tumor vessels.
