Tetraethyl lead is a volatile, toxic metal organic compound used primarily as an antiknock for gasoline. The current method for the determination of tetraethyl lead in gasoline has chemical and polarographic methods. Chemical methods often involve filtration precipitation and titration end points are not accurate enough. Polarography using mercury and nitrogen, the operation is also inconvenient.
