Objective To study the correlation between HCV genotype and RNA content and liver damage index. Methods The sera from 208 patients with chronic hepatitis C from 14 hospitals were tested for ALT and AST. Roche Cobas Amplicor HCV Monitor Test Version 2.0 (v2.0) reagent was used for HCV RNA quantification and Simmons restriction enzyme digestion HCV genotype detection, analysis of HCV genotype, HCV RNA content and ALT, AST levels and AST / ALT ratio correlation. Results There was no correlation between the level of basal HCV RNA and ALT, AST and the ratio of AST / ALT in 208 patients with chronic hepatitis C (r = 0.093,0.092,0.009, P> 0.05, respectively) There was no significant difference in ALT, AST and AST / ALT ratio between the group with low virus (<8.5 × 10 ~ 5IU / ml) and the group with low virus (<8.5 × 10-5IU / ml) 0.746). There was no significant difference in the ALT, AST, AST / ALT between HCV genotype 1 and non-genotype 1 (P = 0.406,0.461,0.528). The HCV genotype 1 and non-genotype 1 RNA content There was no significant difference between the two groups (P> 0.05). There was no significant difference in ALT and AST levels and AST / ALT ratio between the viral response group and the non-response group at the end of treatment (P = 0.443,0.641,0.942) , There were no significant differences in the ALT, AST levels and AST / ALT ratio between the viral response group and the non-response group (P = 0.201, 0.411, 0.76). Conclusion There is no correlation between HCV genotypes and RNA viruses in patients with chronic hepatitis C and liver damage indexes.
