四台矿是大同煤矿集团主力生产矿井之一,井田位于大同煤田西北部,南北长约13.8公里,东西宽约8公里,面积约65.46平方公里。1984年12月开工建设,1991年12月13日正式投产,设计开采侏罗纪煤系。采用斜井(一主一副)立井混合式开拓方式。主采煤层有11#、12#、14#三层,现开采12#、14#煤层。产品发热量平均在5500大卡/千克以上,属优质工业动力煤。四台矿素有“大同煤田侏罗系地质博物馆”之称,是大同煤矿集团地质构造显现最为频繁的矿井之一。近年来,四台
