合金熔制工艺中最基本的特性要求是化学成份的均匀性。反射炉中熔制的复化铝合金化学成份极不均匀,熔炼过程中的不稳定熔炼工艺,落后的搅拌方法造成个别组元的含量波动很大,甚至在一个熔次中也是如此。以前的复化铝合金ΓOCT标准只是间接地考虑了搅拌方法的缺点,标准中允许合金中个别组元含量在30~100%的范围内波动。这同样也是正在生效的ΓOCT1583—73标准的固有缺点。
