祖国大西南有众多的自然保护区,它们的价值和特点不同,风光各异。说起西双版纳,也许无人不知,要说孟连县的竜山,知道的人就不多了。这也难怪,它不仅面积小,地方又偏远(离邻国缅甸只有四十公里),且只是省级保护点,没国家级那么气派,再加上它紧挨着驰名天下的西双版纳,使它就象太阳下面的蜡光一样不那么引人瞩目,所以尽管它是龙血树的天堂,但仍鲜为人知。然而,如果说西双版纳是动植物王国皇冠上的绿宝石,那末,孟连竜山自然保护点便是这颗绿宝石的一个组成部分。
