CD4 + CD25 + Treg cells are an important subset of regulatory T cells. They are immunocompromised and immunosuppressive and play an important role in preventing autoimmune diseases, inducing transplant tolerance and regulating tumor immunity. Acute graft versus host disease (aGVHD) is the most serious complication after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. In recent years, great progress has been made in the study of the association between CD4 + CD25 + Treg cells and aGVHD. In particular, such cells can effectively reduce the incidence of aGVHD and serve as an important indicator of aGVHD risk prediction. This review summarizes the research progress of the characteristics of CD4 + CD25 + Treg cells, the mechanism of immune regulation and the association between CD4 + CD25 + Treg cells and aGVHD.
