南剧,又称南戏,是流行于鄂西土家族地区的一个具有民族特色与地方特色的颇有影响的古老剧种,传统剧目有近千个。南剧剧本唱词常杂有鄂西方言土语,通俗易懂,生活气息浓郁。特别是一些生活小戏,唱词与道白更具特色,鲜活生动。然而,现在南剧的日常性演出较少,后继乏人,很多珍贵的艺术资料随时光日渐湮没,南剧艺术无形文化资源急需得到很好的留存和保护。新南剧《西兰卡普》的出现,使南剧在极端低迷甚至失传的绝境之后绝处逢生,给南剧的发展探明了一条新的发展道路,南剧《西兰卡普》是为何能够得到大众的青睐?创作手法上有如何的创新?我们将如何保护和发展南剧?这些都是本文所需要探讨的。
