This article presents a pilot data acquisition system using commercial software and hardware design principles. It can be used to design communication network performance monitoring system. Its outstanding feature is the use of a real-time software operating system, decentralized processing, and the use of IEEE488-19-19 standard programmable digital interface device. The small central computer uses a multipoint asynchronous telemetry channel to control multiple decentralized satellite processors. At the satellite terminal, the entire data is retrieved by controlling the data acquisition device connected to the IEEE488 interface. This article details the hardware and operating system software. However, there is no specific discussion of data acquisition software.
