左长清,1956年1月生于湖南省衡南县,1977年考入中南林学院林学系,从此便与水土保持结下了不解之缘。1982年大学毕业,他本可继续深造,也可留在家乡工作。但那时严重的水土流失把江西赣南这块美丽富饶之地吞噬成了“江南沙漠”,强烈的责任感和使命感驱使他毅然来到了革命老区——江西,把自己的事业扎根于这块急需整治的红土地。他坚信:天道酬勤,贫瘠的红土地也能结出累累硕果。从此,他在水土保持的漫漫征途上,开始了艰难的跋涉。
Zuo Changqing, born in January 1956 in Hengnan County, Hunan Province, was admitted to the Department of Forestry at Zhongnan Forestry College in 1977 and from then on he became acquainted with soil and water conservation. He graduated from college in 1982, he could continue to further his studies, may also stay in his hometown. However, at that time, the serious soil and water loss swallowed up this beautiful and fertile land in Jiangxi’s southern Jiangxi Province into a “desert in the south of Yangtze River.” Its strong sense of responsibility and mission drove him resolutely into the old revolutionary base area of Jiangxi Province, rooted in this undertaking Red need land remediation.
