破骨细胞(osteoclast,OC)是由单核/巨噬形成的一种多核细胞。巨噬细胞变成具有骨吸收能力的OC必须要有骨髓基质细胞/成骨细胞(osteoblast,OB)的存在,它通过分泌酸和蛋白酶溶解骨组织,从而启动骨形成、完成骨吸收。这是维持骨不断更新,功能正常和结构完整的关键。任何引起成骨细胞0C生成增多或过度活化的因素均可使0C功能亢进,骨吸收超过骨形成,最终导致骨质疏松。
Osteoclasts (OCs) are multi-nucleated cells formed by monocytes / macrophages.
