电视纪录是具有双重性的。一方面 ,镜头前的现实可能是人为安排的“现实” ,而并非现实本身的真相。但这并不意味着它不能放映或表现出事物或生活整体的“本质真实”。另一方面 ,即使是现实生活实况的真相纪录 ,一如体育的现场转播 ,也有可能并没有反映出现实本身的“真相”。因此 ,电视纪录 ,哪怕是“实况电视”也与主体 (操作者 )的技术性操作 ,与社会文化制度的不同传统、不同规范 ,与电视机构主体性的制约 ,与导向作用等主体性因素密不可分。只有明白了电视纪录的真实并不等于事件的“真相” ,才可能不成为那种“客观纪录”型的“撒谎者”
