一、第一次国内革命战争时期一九二五年下半年,中共两广区委决定在福建闽南地区发展中国共产党的组织。同年十一月和翌年一月,在广州先后吸收罗扬才和李觉民加入共产党。二月共产党员罗秋天受党的派遣从广东大学转到厦门大学读书。按着就在厦门大学成立了中共支部,书记罗扬才,主要成员有罗秋天等。
