Apoptosis is one of the hot topics in the current field of cell biology. Bushen Chinese medicine to a certain extent, can delay the process of nerve cell apoptosis. This review summarizes the main manifestations of neuronal apoptosis, gene regulation and the recent progress of kidney invigorating herbs in regulating neuronal apoptosis.
