坐落在长江北岸的江苏泰州是一个与曲艺、戏曲有着深厚渊源的城市。她既是说书人鼻祖柳敬亭的出生地,也是京剧大师梅兰芳的故里。继在北京成功举办四届比赛后,第五届少儿曲艺大赛首次移师京外,在泰州这样一座有着深厚历史文化底蕴的水城举办。8月6日,由中国关心下一代工作委员会、中国曲艺家协会主办,江苏省泰州市人民政府承办的“泰州杯”第五届全国少儿曲艺大赛新闻发布会在北京新闻大厦举行。众多媒体和曲艺界知名人士云集一堂,为此次大赛助兴。据中国曲协分党组副书记、秘书长刁惠香介绍,本届大赛在初评阶段共收到涵盖46个曲种的,由全国24个省、市、自治区曲协报送的160个参赛节目,选手中年龄最大的15岁,年龄最小的5岁。经过紧张的复评工作,共选出50个节目参加在泰州进行的决赛。

Following the successful hosting of the four competitions in Beijing, the Fifth Children’s Folk Art Competition first moved outside Beijing to the city of Taizhou, which has a profound historical and cultural background. On August 6, the press conference on “Taizhou Cup” and "5th National Children’s Folk Art Competition hosted by China Concerning the Next Generation Working Committee and China Artists Association, and Taizhou Municipal People’s Government of Jiangsu Province was held in Beijing News Building. Many media and folk art celebrities gathered for the contest to promote. According to Diao Huixiang, deputy secretary of Party Committee of China Ququ Association and secretary-general, this contest contains a total of 160 entries covering 46 tracks in the preliminary evaluation stage and submitted by the Qujian Committee of 24 provinces, cities and autonomous regions in the country. The oldest is 15 years old, and the youngest is 5 years old. After a tense re-evaluation work, a total of 50 programs were selected to participate in the finals in Taizhou.
