【摘要】“花园小径句”是一个教学难点,也是让二语习得者难识解的一种句子。因为,花园小径句是一种特殊的引起局部歧义的句子。 国内外学者从许多角度对这一现象的成因作了不同的讨论。本文将把2017年TEM-8阅读理解文章中的花园小径句作为分析对象,以原型范畴理论为基础从语义层面来进行认知分析,找出其形成原因以及理解花园小径句的办法。该分析将对英语学习者在学习花园小径句或是复杂句时有所帮助,此外还有助于教师进行教学实践。

【Abstract】The “garden-path” sentence is not only a difficult teaching point, but also a kind of sentence that is a obstacle for second language learners. The “garden-path” sentence is a special sentence that causes local ambiguity. Scholars at home and abroad have made different discussions on the causes of this phenomenon from many angles. The author will take the garden-path sentences in TEM-8(2017) reading comprehension as the analytic object, and conduct cognitive analysis from the semantic level based on the prototype category theory so as to find out the reasons why the garden-path sentences exist and the ways to understand garden-path sentences. This paper will be beneficial for English learners to learn garden-path sentences and for teachers to carry out teaching practice.
