３月 ２７日下午，国家经贸妥培训司和中央电视台经济部假座中国大饭店举办由位居世界５００强第 １７２位的美国卡特彼勒公司Ｇｅｒａｌｄ Ｌ· Ｓｈａｈｅｅｎ总裁与中国东风汽车公司总经理苗圩先生对话：传统制造业如何面对新世纪的发展。来自全国各地的上程机械和汽车业的决策人士，有关报社和杂志社的专栏记者近 １５０人出席听取演讲。对话由央台经济部曲向东先生主持。本刊就对话内容根据纪录作部分删节整理后刊出（未经审核）。为方便起见，主持人、夏汉先生、苗圩先生以Ａ、Ｂ、Ｃ表示。
On the afternoon of March 27th, the National Economic and Trade Training Department and the China Central Television Economic Department pretending to hold the China World Hotel held by President Gerald L. Shaheen of Caterpillar Inc., No. 172 of the world’s top 500 companies and Miao Wei, General Manager of China Dongfeng Motor Corporation. Mr. Dialogue: How traditional manufacturing industries face the development of the new century. Nearly 150 people from decision-makers in the upper-range machinery and automotive industries across the country, including newspapers and magazines, attended the lecture. The dialogue was moderated by Mr. Qu Xiangdong from the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Central Government of Taiwan.
