西塘作为江南水乡中的手工业商贸重镇,是镇内枝状街河的团型古镇。在得天独厚的历史背景和自然地理条件下,形成了区别于其他水乡古镇的开放性滨水商贸集散空间,且这种外部空间的开放性,是同时融合经济性、文化性和生活性的多元化属性。文章以西塘最著名的“烟雨长廊”为例,从外部空间形成条件、定义组成、开放性的多重属性、廊棚空间典型形态分析四个方面来浅析西塘古镇外部空间形态的开放性。
