Oak Ridge National Laboratories (ORNL) in the United States announced in February 2009 that the continuous biodiesel production process developed will have a residence time of about 1 min, which can take hours using the conventional batch process. The process uses simultaneous synthesis of biodiesel and glycerol by-product of the separation of biodiesel by centrifugation process.
