Vocabulary is one of the three essential components that constitute language knowledge. Since the 1970s,many foreign and native scholars have focused their research on how to improve vocabularylearning efficiency and enlarge vocabulary size. Nevertheless,our current foreign language teaching neglects the vocabulary teaching and students do not know how to learn effectively. Based on the result of the survey,the writer studied the approach of vocabulary teaching,on the basis of the guidance of cognitive theory and constructivism theory. Teachers change their vocabulary teaching approach and give students learning strategy training in order to develop students’ self-reliant ability and overall quality.
