古文字研究从东汉许慎的《说文解字》诞生以来历久不衰,而隶书以后的近代汉字特别是俗字的研究,则显得相对沉寂。近年来,张涌泉先后发表《敦煌写卷俗字研究之意义》(1990)、《敦煌写卷俗字的类型及考辨方法》(1992)、《俗字研究与大型字典的编纂》(1993)等一系列颇有分量的学术论文,并在自己多年研究成果的基础上撰成了《汉语俗字研究》(下称《研究》)一书。该书作为国家古籍整理出版规划小组审定的“中国传统文化研究丛书”第一辑的一种,由湖南岳麓书社出版(1995年4月第1版)。裘锡圭先生为该书写了序言,认为它是“第一部俗
The study of ancient writing has been a long time since the birth of ”Shuo Wen Jie Zi“ by Xu Shen in the Eastern Han Dynasty. However, the study of modern Chinese characters, especially the folk characters after the official scriptures, appears relatively quiet. In recent years, Zhang Yongquan published a series of articles entitled ”Research on Folk Characters of Dunhuang Writing“ (1990), ”Types and Methods of Dunhuang Vernacular Writing“ (1992), ”Studies of Folk Characters and Compilation of Large Dictionaries“ (1993) Quite a weight of academic papers, and in his many years of research based on the achievements of the Chinese language research (hereinafter referred to as ”research“) book. The book as a national ancient books publishing planning group approved ”Chinese traditional culture research series“ a first series, published by Hunan Yuelu Publishing House (April 1995 1st edition). Mr. Qiu Xigui wrote a preface for the book, thinking it was ”the first vulgar."
