1999年5月28日,信息产业部武汉邮电科学研究院呈现出一派节日的气氛。这一天,正在湖北进行国有企业改革与发展问题调研的中共中央总书记、国家主席、中央军委主席江泽民,专程来到武汉邮电科学研究院视察并指导工作。就在这喜庆繁忙的人群中,我们看到江总书记正与一位身材不高,面目清瘦,可腰板硬直的老人进行亲切交谈,他就是我国公认的光纤通信工程技术的开拓者——赵梓森院士。
May 28, 1999, Ministry of Information Industry, Wuhan Institute of Posts and Telecommunications presents a festive atmosphere. On this day, Jiang Zemin, general secretary and president of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and chairman of the Central Military Commission, who is conducting a survey on the reform and development of state-owned enterprises in Hubei, made a special trip to inspect and guide the work of the Wuhan Institute of Posts and Telecommunications. In this happy crowd, we can see that General Secretary Jiang is having a cordial conversation with an elderly person who is not tall, thin and straightforward.
