上海及其周边地区地处长江经济带和沿海经济带的结合部,是为中国经济最发达、发展最活跃的核心地区之一。2000年,上海及其周边14个市以占全国1％的土地,5.9％的人口,产出17.2％的GDP。同时,该区也是国际制造业基地以及世界上最具活力和发展前景的地区之一。
Shanghai and its surrounding areas are located at the junction of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Coastal Economic Belt and are one of the core areas for China’s most developed and developing economy. In 2000, Shanghai and its 14 neighboring cities produced 17.2% of GDP with 1% of the country’s land and 5.9% of the population. At the same time, the area is also an international manufacturing base and one of the most dynamic and promising areas in the world.
