20世纪50年代以来,中山大学便是古代戏曲史研究的一座重镇,从王季思、董每戡先生开创起,黄天骥、康保成、黄仕忠、陈旭耀等学者,薪火相传,代有建树。笔者十余年来学习、研究明清版画史,关注点正集中于戏曲插图,故从这些前辈时贤的著述中受益良多,文献方面尤是如此。例如,陈旭耀博士的《现存明刊〈西厢记〉综录》~1一书,在《西厢记》的版本学问题上有许多突破性考证,笔者过去写作《明清刊〈西厢记〉版画考析》时,尚不能参考到他的成果,留下了不少错漏。为弥补这个遗憾,
