In August this year, CNNIC released the 40th Statistical Report on the Internet Development in China. The report shows that as of June 2017, the number of netizens in China has reached 751 million, accounting for one fifth of the total number of Internet users worldwide. Internet penetration rate was 54.3%. The other set of data show that as of June 2017, the number of IPv4 addresses in China is only 338 million, which is a huge gap compared with the developed countries in Europe and the United States, with low network efficiency and poor security management.
