伽塞尔(Herbert Spencer Gasser,1888年~1963年),神经生理学家,1944年诺贝尔生理学或医学奖得主,洛克菲勒医学研究所第二任所长,其工作在研究所早期发展历史上意义重大,主要包括三个方面:继承弗莱克斯纳传统;开辟新的研究方向;战后调整和回归。他是一位优秀的科学家,他所开辟的神经生理学研究方向成为日后大学科研发展的重要基石,他还是一位具有承上启下作用的重要管理者,是大学历史上不能被忘记的重要奠基人。
Herbert Spencer Gasser (1888-1963), neurophysiologist, winner of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1944, and second director of the Rockefeller Institute of Medicine, whose work is of great importance in the history of the Institute’s early development , Mainly including three aspects: the inheritance of Flexner tradition; the opening up of new research directions; the postwar adjustment and return.
