用事实证明论点正确,首先要求学生必须掌握较多的事实。开始时,一布置作文练习,学生就普遍反映他们找不到事例。学生的“反映”,有的是真实的,有的则是不符合实际的,必须具体分析,区别对待。上海有一条镇宁路,人行道几乎被工厂和居民占用光了。这条马路虽然离学校不远,但大多数学生从来不走这条马路,因此,当我出了个《镇宁路的人行道必须整顿》的题目,要学生作事实论证的练习时,不少学生马上嚷起来了,说什么他们不了解情况,没法写。我肯定了学生所说的“不了解情况”这一点;同时否定了他们所谓“没法写”的结论,指出他们思想上的片面性,只知道“不了解情
