Adjustable pitch propellers (hereinafter referred to as “pitch propellers”) give propulsion designers a special issue of blade load calculation in non-design conditions and overall performance of pitch adjustment throughout the entire propulsion system of the ship. This report takes into account the actual and theoretical developments of propeller-driven ships in an effort to find solutions to these problems. First, the emphasis is placed on the series of experimental studies on cavitation tube experiments with a uniform propellant and a variable-stream flow under different cavitation conditions.
