The recent progress in immunochemical studies of cell surface antigens has been rapid. In particular, studies on HL-A antigens have demonstrated that some of the HL-A antigens contain β2-microglobulin. It may also exist on the cell surface as a partial structure of other functional unit substances (or antigens).
