今年6月20日,是我国著名画家、工艺美术教育家庞薰琴教授诞辰八十五周年。庞薰琴美术馆自1988年6月22日奠基以来,历时三年,于这天落成揭幕,隆重开馆。中央工艺美术学院院长常沙娜、党委书记昭隆,常熟市党政领导周德欣、江浩、戚李生、何耀文,庞薰琴夫人袁韵宜分别为美术馆剪彩和揭像。庞薰琴教授是常熟人,一生热爱党,热爱人民,热爱社会主义祖国。他早年投身艺术事业,是我国第一代留学法国的艺术家之一。50年代,在周总理的关怀下成立的中国第一所工艺美术最高学府——中央工艺美术学院,他是主要创办者,是我国工艺美术的开拓者之一。在数十年的艺术创作和教育生涯中,他为祖国培养了一批又一批的艺术人才,并留下了大量的优秀作品,为发展新中国的工艺美术事业、丰富艺术创作做出了卓越的贡献。 June 20 this year, is China’s famous painter, arts and crafts educator Professor Pang Xun Qin eighty-fifth anniversary of the birth.
