望渔滩村村长吴二哥从一个管人的人到为了集体不惜求助曾经被管过的人,以往的影视作品不是没有演绎过这样的故事,可观众看到的要么是对吴二哥的可怜,对他过去或多或少带有的“左”的东西的批判和嘲讽,改革初期,这类影片可谓多矣;要么是将王金良描绘成一个衣锦还乡的暴发户,近来的许多作品,尤其对这类能人流露出鄙视和揶揄。影片《吴二哥请神》没有简单地停留在过去那种对个体批来批去的社会表层现象的扫描上。我们看到的吴二哥和王金良都值得同情,不独某一场戏催人泪下,而是整个贯穿情节都感到沉重和压抑。他们的尴尬,实则是社会转型期,我们每个人都经历过、面对着,却又不经意的尴尬和困惑。
