INTRODUCTION Infrared (IR) thermography has demonstrated promising potential for non-destructive evaluation (NDE) of sheet and honeycomb composite structures and bonded structures. Infrared imaging has several attractive features as a composite material detection method: this method is non-contact, dry, safe, and can quickly and easily visualize the results of the test. Infrared temperature recording method for composite non-destructive testing are mostly pulse method, which heats the object to be inspected in a short time (0.1-20s), unlike the continuous wave method. With a short heating pulse, it is possible to observe very subtle irregularities in the composite, but not with continuous heating. To date, pulsed infrared thermography for composite testing can only be considered as a test rather than as a quantitative method, neither as a normative nor as established norms of infrared non-destructive evaluation.
