Geraldine Brooks is an Australian-born journalist and novelist. Her Nine Parts of Desire (1994) and Year of Miracles (2001) are best-of-non-fiction bestseller titles worldwide. During the interview, I learned that her childhood imagination, family education and compassion provided a roadmap for her literary career. As a reporter, she witnessed the weakness, evil and evil of humanity. These adult experiences integrate into her historical novels - such as the humanistic portrayal of the tragic life of characters in The Book of Man (2008). In Caleb’s Life Crossings (2011), historical stories and ubiquitous fiction inspire each other and enrich each other, so that they are forged like “Marches” (2005) by exciting stories and mysterious images It’s a dream story that has an eternal theme. Listening to her lectures and interviews with her further deepened my impressions of her - one of the most flexible and insightful writers of American historical novelists.
