In the summer of 1950, we surveyed the Yellow River in the Yellow River Basin to the Huaihe River in Henan Province. There was no river shape across the river, but a rather concave slope. We asked the masses to say that this is Shahe. Floods suffered heavy losses, sparsely populated, the masses are busy planting autumn crops, or reclamation sites. Although the local government vigorously relief, but limited to the conditions at that time, the pan-mass life is still very difficult. Compared with the widespread popular proverbs in the past, “walking thousands away, not as good as the two sides of the Huaihe River,” compared to the scene filled with emotion.
